Inflammation Journal Club presents the state of the art papers that fall broadly in the area of inflammation, which include aspects of basic cellular and molecular mechanisms, animal models and immunopathology of human diseases including, infectious diseases, cancer and chronic lung diseases.
The papers presented should fit the following criteria:
- Research reports in peer-reviewed journals
- Important new findings of general interest
- Novel methodology
- Nature reviews
- Published within the past year
Format: Informal discussions- no powerpoints
Outline for presentations:
Brief history of research of the group
Scientific questions addressed in the paper
Brief but detailed discussion of the model system
Discussion of figures (discussion of all figures are not necessary)
Novel observations, contributions of the paper to advance the field, clinical implications.
Summary of the findings (summary diagram)
This journal club meets weekly at 8 AM on Thursdays at Lucys coffee shop.
