Biography

S. Louis Bridges, Jr., received his M.D. from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans (1984). He was an intern, resident, and chief medical resident at the University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston, Texas (1984-1988). Dr. Bridges moved to Birmingham in 1988 as a Clinical Fellow in the Division of Clinical Immunology and Rheumatology at UAB, and in 1995 received his Ph.D. from the Department of Microbiology. Dr. Bridges is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine and in the Department of Microbiology and is the Associate Director for Pharmacogenetics of the UAB Arthritis Clinical Intervention Program.
