Biography
Susan K. Hollingshead, Research Associate Professor of Microbiology, graduated from Emory Univ. (B.S., 1975). After several years at the Centers for Disease Control (Atlanta) and a year of teaching high school biology, she returned to graduate school at the Univ. of Georgia, where she received a Ph.D. degree in molecular genetics. Her postdoctoral studies were at Emory Univ. in Atlanta, Georgia where she began studies in bacterial pathogenesis in the streptococci.
