Biography
John D. Mountz (b. 1947), Professor of Medicine, received his B.S. degree in physics from Wright State University. He was awarded his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in physics from Michigan State University. He obtained his M.D. degree from Ohio State University and finished his internship and residency training in Internal Medicine at Bowman Gray School of Medicine. After service as a Rheumatology fellow at Bowman Gray, he went to the NIH as a research fellow before joining the UAB faculty. Dr. Mountz enjoys the trumpet, flying and electronics.
