Hybrid Structural Techniques in Cellular and Molecular Biology
Advanced Course MIC 774 - Fall Semester 2008

Coursemasters: Terje Dokland and Mark Walter

General comments: This course provides an introduction to structural biology with focus on X-ray crystallography, Cryo-Electron microscopy and Image Reconstruction, NMR, and Mass Spectrometry as applied to biological systems. Each component will be taught separately by Drs. Dokland, Walter, Saad, and Prevelige, and will concentrate on providing the student with a basic understanding of the essential principals of the technique as well as its practical applications. Examples will generally be drawn from virology and immunology.

Class Schedule: Every Wednesday and Friday 10:00 - 11:30 AM until December 12, 2008 in CFAR Conference Room (BBRB 256).

Prerequisites: Successful completion of the first year CMB curriculum.
