Patrick graduated from Belmont Abbey College, Belmont, NC in 2004 with a B.Sc. degree in Biology. He then spent a gap-year working as an Emerging Infectious Disease Fellow for the APHL-CDC/NCID in Seattle, WA. After his fellowship came to a close, he moved to Birmingham, AL and entered the CMB program. He has just finished his first year--and though he wishes he had more free time--he occupies his work/school/free time in the lab of Dr. OraLee Branch studying Merozoite Surface Protein-1 of the erythrocytic phase of malaria.
